South Korea has appointed Kim Byong-joon as new prime minister and Yim Jong-yong as new finance minister and deputy prime minister, Reuters reported on Nov. 2.

Kim has served as policy adviser to the Roh Moo-hyun administration, while Yan has served as chairman of the Financial Services Commission.
